I just received my new Orbis Ring Flash. Here are a few test shots I took with the SB800 flash.

Plus: Great light quality
Downfall: A bit confusing to assemble with the bracket (perhaps I’m just not the sharpest crayon in the box). If your camera bag isn’t a suit case you might need an extra bag to carry all the parts. Doesn’t fit on my SB800 properly, always paranoid it’s going to fall out. Found a no slip pad adhesive in the orbis box that secures the nikon sb800. You also need to buy attachments such as a flash extender and perhaps a wireless transmitter.

Gary Fong Diffusser
Plus: Somewhat compact and will fit in most camera bags. Better than direct flash light quality.
Downfall: It doesn’t give the same light quality as the orbis

Winner for versitility and assecability: Gary Fong
Winner for image quality: Orbis Ring Flash (if you can deal with the bracket)
